Black Friday

Well, we did it again this year.  Yes, at 6:00 on Friday, “Black Friday” that is, we were already in the stores.  For the most part, it was a family affair.  We also included Bro. and Sis. Groves in the adventure.  That is exactly the way they summed it up, an adventure.

I am sure you have seen pictures from across the country about “Black Friday”.  Everyone wanting the door buster prices.  The common sight on “Black Friday” is the lines.  Some people standing in line since early on Thursday.

Don’t get me wrong, waiting in lines is nothing new, and it is not isolated to the Friday after Thanksgiving.   I confess, I have waited in lines a few times in my life.  Trust me, at that moment I think that I could look at someone and just say, “shoot me”.

I guess the question is, “What if we were willing to wait on God, like people are willing to wait for the newest iPhone, or PlayStation, or television.

Each of us, have at some point in our life, told God that we belong to Him, and that we trust Him.  We have made it clear that verbally we depend on the Lord.  What we fail to consider is that Jesus has already delivered on His end of the deal.  He has died for our sins.  By His stripes we are healed.  The chastisement of our peace is upon Him.  Didn’t Jesus say, “I stand at the door and knock”?  All he is waiting on today is for us to open the doors and let Him come and take complete ownership.

Hasn’t Jesus waited in line long enough.  Let’s simply surrender, and give it all to Jesus.
