Saturday evening, our family celebrated Christmas with Chris, Bro. & Sis. Sauters, and the Hardbargers. As always, it was a wonderful time of family, laughing, of course, eating, and just plain fun. Stories were told, and retold. Memories were made, that we will laugh about next year. I love this time of year.

Yes, I love the decorations, the trees, the families getting together, the cards we receive. I even love saying Merry Christmas to perfect strangers. I also realize that Christmas is not easy for everyone. For some, it is a time of sorrow, struggling to buy presents, missing someone special.

Do not let the stresses of the season distract you from the real celebration. Christmas can be a time of healing and renewal. Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, reminds us that we can have joy, and peace in our lives. Believe me, when I say that that is not something that just makes a good Christmas card. It’s true. The story of Jesus, is a story of hope, truth and love. Had Jesus not been born, we would die in our sins.

We can truly be happy at Christmas! No matter what may be happening, we can know that we are His children. We then become sons and daughters of God. Heaven will be our home one day.
