Recently, I was at a hospital, when asking for the room number of a patient, the receptionist told me there were two ways up. I was given the choice of taking the steps or the elevator. Either way, the direction was up.

Praise Elevates or raises us into the Lord’s presence and power. My choice was the ease of the elevator or the labor of the stairs. At times, praise seems easy and other times it is something that we must labor to do.

Remember Paul and Silas who was beaten and threw into prison for doing the Lord’s work. The bible tells us at midnight they began to pray and sing praises unto the Lord. The result of them doing this was A POWERFUL MOVE OF GOD. In fact it was described as a earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison. Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above the troubles at hand. They enter into the presence and power of God by praise and worship. Psalms 22:3 tells us that God inhabits the praises of his people. He dwells in the atmosphere of His praise. Remember child of God that praise is the “gate-pass” which allows you and I access to the sacredness of His glory. The psalmist wrote ” Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.”

If we stay a people of praise we will reap the benefits from our passion for God through praise. Praise will change our lifestyle. It will send the enemy running. Praises opens doors, and midnight will not scare us.
