Choices

I remember as a kid, going to the lake or to the river with my family. One of the things I loved to do was to skip rocks across the water. Everytime the rock hit the water, there were ripples that would encircle the point of impact.

The fact is that we do the same thing everyday. Our decisions, our choices cause ripple effects for ourselves and for others around us. You are who you are now, where you are now, and what you are now because of choices that you have made.

Take an inventory of the choices that you make on a daily basis. These decisions will tell the story of what is really important to you. What do you choose to give your time to. What do you choose to spend your money on? What do you choose to do? Choices are the tell all, of what is in our heart.

Elijah said, “choose this day whom you will serve”. Our choices are the proof of a life that is deeply committed to Jesus and His ways, and they have the ripple effect of filling our lives “with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

While our desires may shape our future, our choices are what our future is built upon. Make excellent choices and watch the ripple effects affect you and others around you.
