Back from Vacation

It is good to be home.  We had a wonderful vacation.  The only thing that could have made it better was if Patrick and Nick had been able to be with us.

We did a lot of things, going to Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA.  A couple of days, we took in the local sights of Beaufort and Port Royal.  Most of all we rested.

During our vacation, the news story broke about the comments of Truett Cathy, the CEO of Chick-fil-a.  This definitely got my attention.  When a person of his responsibility and standing takes a position for righteousness, I definitely take notice.  I was not the only one, but many have voiced their opinions of Mr. Cathy’s comments.  Some have disagreed with him.  However, many, and I do mean many, have risen to support Mr. Cathy’s stand for Biblical morality.

While in Beaufort, Conner asked that we go to Chick-fil-a for lunch.  I was anxious to see the result of the publicity that Chick-fil-a was receiving.  It was exciting to pull into the lot, and see a line of cars wrapping around the building, awaiting service at the drive-thru.  Also, during our lunch, lines remained at the counter.  It was wonderful to see people who feel as I do, that anyone that is willing to be a voice of righteousness needs my support.

There has been a call to boycott and even picket Chick-fil-a restaurants for the moral values of their CEO.  I want to encourage you, as you can, to support Chick-fil-a.

To paraphrase a very wise statement:  For evil to flourish, it only takes the righteous to be silent.
