A New Generation

After God delivered the the children of Israel, they spent 40 years in the wilderness because of the hardness of their hearts.

If only they had been obedient to God, they could have made the journey much sooner.

Before they went into the promise land, Moses reminded them of the things that God had done for them so that they would not forget.

This was a new generation. Most of the older generation had died in the wilderness. And so he felt a need to remind them of what had happened. He told them that God had lead them the 40 years they were in the wilderness, because God wanted to see what was in their heart. But none the less, he said, God lead them.

God provided for them all the while He was leading them. If you ever feel as though you are in the wilderness, God is still leading you. It may be His way of humbling you, proving you, and seeing what is in your heart; just remember that the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord, and He delights in his way.
