Learning about the love of God and what Jesus did two thousand years ago so that we could have eternal life is one of the most thrilling things that we could ever grasp. I remember the realization that Jesus did was for me, changed my life and it was then that I became a follower. I also learned that following is easy, being a disciple is not so easy.

Being a follower can be done from a distance or close one day, and distant the next. However, being a disciple requires us to truly, "love the Lord our God, with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength." Being a disciple requires us to live a new way of life, free from misguided thinking, false religion, and tradition. It truly means to forsake all.

Being a disciple means that we trust Jesus daily, searching the scriptures and seeking to become more like the God that saved us.

Allow me to pose the question: are you a follower or a disciple?
