Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

A WORD FOR THE JOURNEY

Recently, I was driving to Charleston to go to the hospital and visit someone. As I was driving, something caught my eye in a field just before Charleston. My eyes immediately left the road and looked to see some deer standing in a field. When I looked back, the car in front of me was quickly slowing down because of a deer that was crossing the interstate. As you can imagine, I immediately hit my brakes to slow down quick enough to keep from hitting the car in front of me.

In other words, I wasn't looking where I should have been looking and it was almost tragic.

The same is true spiritually. When we are faced with serious situations, where should we be looking?

The scripture is still true today, "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord."

When you are under attack, or face situations in life that seem overwhelming, we must remember, no matter how hopeless, how difficult, the battle is not ours. It is the Lord's.

Keep your eyes on Jesus. When sudden issues arise, if you're not looking to the right one, it could be tragic.
