This past weekend, we had the awesome experience of being apart of Camp Joy! It is always amazing to see these kids and their families responding to the presence of God like we saw this weekend. Our memory verse today is Matthew 19:14, where Jesus is encouraging the disciples to allow the children to come to Him. Because the greatest place we can lead a child is to the feet of Jesus.
This coming week, we will be doing Vacation Bible School, another exciting way to lead our children to Jesus. What is even more exciting is we will have children here who may not hear about Jesus except when they come to special programs like this. This is where we build foundations of faith and relationships with Jesus. Pointing them to the One they can ultimately trust with their present and their future.
These children are facing things in this world that neither you nor I had to deal with. We need to equip them with the knowledge of God and His love for them. I pray that they can remember what they were taught when the world is telling them a lie that contradicts who God is and His Word. Not just what they learned in VBS, church camp, or some other special occasion, but I pray that they be in Sunday School to learn it and let it be written on their hearts. Sunday School teachers, Sunshine Kids teachers, and VBS volunteers, remember--God's Word does not return void!
