The Power of Thanksgiving

A WORD FOR THE JOURNEY

I am so blessed. We have all said it, but do we realize how powerful that declaration is?

The devil would like to keep you from realizing how blessed you are. When we don't realize that we are blessed to begin with, we begin to question God's love and sometimes even question our own faith.

The power of realizing that you are blessed breaks the enemy's hold over you.

David said, "I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving." (Psalms 69:30)

Thanksgiving magnifies God. It gives God the glory that He deserves. It focuses your attention on the One from whom all blessings come. Psalm 100 says, "Know that He is God, it is He that hath made us and not we ourselves." That is humbling, but also comforting.

Psalm 100:4 says, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."

When we enter His gates with thanksgiving, it has the effect of encouraging others to be thankful.

The power of thanksgiving doesn't only affect you, but it affects those around you.

YOU ARE BLESSED!
